CBS daytime has pulled the plug on Guiding Light.  The 72-year-old drama debuted on NBC Radio before it moved to CBS television in 1952. 

Over the last few years, KDKA's Brenda Water did a slew of reports on the show.  Revisit them in our slideshow.  (Shameless plug.) 

But, don't cry your eyes out yet.  There's word the producers of the drama may try to move the show to cable or in some form on the internet. 

The last airdate on CBS is September 18.  Stay tuned ...
