I was raised a die hard Red Sox fan. I didn't know there was any other kind!  I often joke that the only time my six year old son is allowed to use the word "hate" is when it refers to the Yankees.

But a Boston sports writer is trying to convince me, and other members of Red Sox Nation, that we should root for the Yankees in the World Series!!!!

Tony Massarotti who writes for boston.com and co-hosts a sports talk show on 98.5 The SportsHub, says Red Sox fans and the team's owners have grown complacent and the only thing that will shock them out of it is watching a Yankees World Series victory and ticker tape parade

He thinks another Yankees ring will force Red Sox management  to go out and spend big money to get players like New York has
