The Weather You Haven't Been Waiting For

Posted by: Doug Kammerer

A lot of people have been telling me that they have been waiting for the cooler weather, but have the same folks been waiting for colder weather and a Nor'easter??? I doubt it, but it is coming.

We will see a cold night tonight in many areas and a frost advisory has been posted for many parts of the area. Temperatures will dip into the mid 30s in some of the colder spots tonight while it should remain in the 40s along the I-95 corridor. Temperatures during the day on Wednesday will also be rather chilly and most areas will be nearly 10-15 degrees below average for this time of year. That being said, it will be the warmest day until early next week.

Our region is going to be under the gun over the next few days with cold temperatures and not one but TWO potential Nor'easters that WILL affect your weekend. The rain and wind will start during the day on Thursday and will not be out of here until late Monday. Storm number one will start on Thursday and bring heavy rain and wind Thursday night into early Friday. We may see a small break from the heavy rain late Friday and into early Saturday morning, but the wind will remain. The rain will return later Saturday and once again be heavy later Saturday and into the day on Sunday. The second storm could be stronger with even higher winds. Winds will be gusty through the period and may reach 20-30 mph during the first storm and between 30 and 40 mph in storm number two.

This is a very tough forecast and things may change over the next few days, but we are in for the two storms. The timing may change, as might the amount of rain and wind, but it will be a bad weekend if you have plans outdoors. Make sure to stay tuned to CBS 3 for the latest on these storms as we will continue to keep you up to date.
