Welcome to Conversation Nation, the official home of conversation. Ok, truth be told, conversation doesn’t technically have an official home. But our legal department is looking into it. Until then, this is where David, Paula, Robi and Todd bring their thought bubbles to life and welcome you in to discuss whatever’s on your mind.

"Sexting" Could Mean Child Porn Charges

Posted by Paula_Ebben

When every middle-schooler has a cell phone with a camera - they are all at risk for getting in to trouble with this issue:

A 12 - 14 year old boy in Falmouth took a nude picture of his 13 year-old girlfriend...and then sent it electronically to five of his friends.

Now all six boys could face child pornography charges (those are felony charges).  They haven't been arrested, but they have been summonsed to court.

Whether we like it or not, it's become common for kids to take nude and semi-nude photos of themselves with cell phone cameras...naturally, adolescents find this funny.   Robi covered a shocking survey on this in December that showed 15% of teens say they've already done this.

But here's the question: should a minor who has possession of nude pictures of another minor on a cell phone face child porn charges?
