Is Booze-Buying Lawmaker A "Hypocrite"?

Posted by Robi

A Massachusetts lawmaker is taking heat for buying booze in New Hampshire. Why all the fuss? The same state rep voted to increase taxes on alcohol in his home state

Now some are calling him a hypocrite

Michael Rodrigues of Westport was spotted at a New Hampshire state liquor store over the weekend. He reportedly was loading booze into the trunk of his car.  A man took pictures of Rodrigues car with official state plates and sent them to the group Citizens For Limited Taxation. The man claims he asked Rodrigues if he was on official business or personal time, he claims the rep told him to mind his own business

Rodrigues told The New Bedford Standard Times he was on vacation with his wife at the time.

A liquor store owner told The Herald he believes Rodrigues is a "hypocrite" because the rep went to New Hampshire "to avoid the very taxes he approved."

Do you agree?
