You may think it's important for your kids to know how to properly display the American flag, but do you want the law to require they learn about it in school?
There's a push on Beacon Hill by some Republican state senators to do just that
Led by Scott Brown, whose running for Ted Kennedy's seat, these law makers think students should be required to learn proper etiquette, the correct use and display of the flag. It would be a change in the existing law that already requires students to learn about American History, the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights
Brown tells the Herald he knows there may be a backlash from parents but he thinks it's important for kids to learn about Old Glory
But the liberal blog Blue Mass Group says this is nothing but an attempt by these pols, especially Brown, to drape themselves in red, white and blue around election time
Do you think this type of amendment is necessary? Aren't there more important issues to be debated up at the statehouse?
