I was a bit too busy last night to post this... but I wanted to share with you some photos I took at Tamiami Chrysler Wednesday.

The employees (nearly 100 of them) stood in front of the dealership protesting their closure in just days.

Chrysler is shutting down nearly a quarter of their dealerships citing they are poor performers. However this dealer maintains they were ranked 70th in a field of 3,000 dealers.

While I realize the car companies need to downscale it's hard to say that when you look into the eyes of these men and women... days away from unemployment.

Ray Martinez (pictured below) has been working at Tamiami for 15 years. He has two children at home including one with special needs. He told me he's been lying to his family about his job to ease their concerns. However he believes they know... the sleepless nights may have given it away.

I'm not sure Obama brought this on. Any President may have had to force the automobile industry to reform. It's unfortuante it's happening during the worst recession in history.
Tamiami's doors close in five days.
