New Challenge, Temptation Trampled

Posted by cbs4webteam
Life; This week has been very hard for me.

In addition to my busy schedule, training, and watching what I eat, I received some bad news. My adorable  lovable son will need to have surgery this summer. Thank the lord that it will be after this challenge is complete, but nonetheless he will be having surgery.

I remember driving down 95 and seeing a McDonalds sign advertising their new coffee drink. I realized how stressed I was, when I (who do not drink coffee), looked twice at this advertisement.  I didn't want the high calorie drink, but for the first time in my life I saw that when stressed how I made poor food choices.

I went straight to the Gym and worked it out on the Gym floor and left it there. I am concerned about my son's pending surgery, but it is not tomorrow, and his heavenly father is in control.

Life is full of challenges, they may be different, but it is not about the actual challenge, it is about ones response to them. I for one believes in overcoming them.

So, back to my new evolving focus in life, this challenge. I am very pleased with my progress this week. I do not know what the scale is going to say next week, because it has not been my friend, but I am still trying to the very end. Thank you for your support and prayers, please keep them coming.

Trying to cope.

Posted by cbs4webteam
Hello again, I know you have not heard (read) from me for a couple of weeks.

It has been a little rough, trying to make room in my busy schedule for my new "Challenge."

I struggle with the diet and I just needed to focus on the exercise and diet. I just could not do anything more, at that time. Now, I feel more comfortable with my diet and food, this week, let's see about next week?.

So, to all the single moms out there, and you married mom?s too, I pray we will do this. I believe that when life throws you lemons it?s time to make lemonade.

Menu Surprise

Posted by cbs4webteam
Week 1 This week was full of change and new behaviors.

I had several appointments to meet at different restaurants for lunch. I shared my concerns with my trainer, who suggested that I go online and print the nutritional menus from the restaurants where I would eat. This was great, armed with knowledge, I was able to eat healthy and even shared the menus with everyone at the table.

I really think all restaurants should have them on their menus next to the items. I saw that my favorite dish had 1350 cal. 40g of fat, and 2660 mg of sodium, that was very surprising, but now I know why it was soooo good.

I also exercised more regularly not just sporadically, I choose to take this time for myself.

No cell phones, no child, nothing but me and nature. This was great, I had an opportunity to just think about all areas of my life and listen to the noise in my head.

Eating Woes

Day 3

I am struggling with diet, but will over come. Eating 5 times a day, takes real commitment. I sometimes miss either meals or snacks. Hope tomorrow will be a better day.

Hello, this is day one and how exciting it is. I traveled to Bally to work out for the first time in this challenge, with my mom for support. Good luck to my competitors, I wish then success. I met my trainer and she is GREAT!  I wish to share a few of my inspirational readings. Todays, "Nobody ever drowned in his own sweat."  Ann Landers.
